This production was a pulled and bought design. Pieces of vintage and modern mixed to create the world of Love and Intrigue. The costume design's color palette was heavily influenced by Karl Friedrich Schinkel's painting "New Theatre".
The design team was inspired by the Romantic era open window paintings popular during the time the show was originally performed. The experience of the first audience of the work also influenced the team to create a design that would mimic the familiarity those seeing the show's premiere would have had.
