Absence makes the heart grow fonder...or so they say

I have been having a blast in my second to last semester of graduate school. Currently I have been working with the amazing designer Mio Guberinic as an inter/assistant for a few projects he is working on. 

This along with my coursework has kept me pretty busy and noticeably absent from my blog as you probably read in my last post. It is my goal to write one blog a month now, which has made me realize how hard it is to have an online presence when one is not actively working at it. I now schedule my blogs into my hand held Moleskine diary (a great thing to give as a gift to your costumer friends).

I hope my conscious scheduling of posts allows me to be thoughtful in my topics and pick fun and interesting things people actually want to read about. As always, I'd love any suggestions on topics.

​My beautiful model Rachel Kaufman doing her best Jane Austen heroine pose as she models my mock up of a 1795 corset and petticoat. I am creating the corset, petticoat, and a gown in my Historical Draping class this semester. As simple as these dresses look, they are surprisingly time consuming to create. But, now I have a new love/hate of bust gussets.
